Andhra Cricket Association Addresses Hanuma Vihari Accusations on Prudhvi Raj, Unveils Fresh Allegations in Response

In their Ranji Trophy quarterfinal match on Monday, Andhra Pradesh was defeated by Madhya Pradesh by a margin of just four runs. Though it was a close match, Madhya Pradesh prevailed in this suspenseful thriller. Andhra Pradesh’s suffering didn’t stop there. After the match, Hanuma Vihari, an exceptional batsman and former captain, made alarming accusations against the Andhra Cricket Association and a fellow player. Vihari disclosed the circumstances leading up to his dismissal as captain in a contentious Instagram post. He disclosed that following an altercation with a player who just so happened to be the son of a “prominent politician,” he was asked to step down as captain. Soon after, Andhra cricket player Prudhvi Raj KN verified on Instagram that he was the individual Vihari had described. But Prudhvi had a different perspective and accused Vihari of mistreating him.

The Andhra Cricket Association released an official statement to resolve the social media feud, in which they leveled criticism at the Indian cricket player. “Addressing the reported issue, it has come to our attention that The Andhra Cricket Association said in a statement that “Mr. Vihari personally verbally abused a specific player during the Bengal Ranji game in front of everyone.” The impacted gamer formally complained to ACA.” The statement’s captaincy modification was also clarified by the association.

Following the first Ranji Trophy match in January 2024, the Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee issued an email suggesting a new captain according to the statement: status as an Indian prospect would have an impact on his availability for the entire season.” Following Vihari’s expression of gratitude for the choice, the senior selection committee named Ricky Bhui the new captain.” The association further claimed to have received complaints over Vihari’s hostile behavior and use of profanity from ACA administrators, support personnel, and teammates.
