Amitabh Bachchan Reminisces About College Days and Love Story with Jaya Bachchan on KBC 16

Amitabh Bachchan returns with another season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Hosting KBC 16 recently, the iconic Bollywood legend must have traveled down memory lane and to the college days of his youth, because he shared how his love story with Jaya Bachchan began.

While on the sets of the show with Kajol Ved, a contestant from Delhi, Amitabh could not help but brush off his “jawani ka zamana” (youthful days). Things took a different turn when Big B shared that he spent quite some time in popular Delhi areas like Sarojini Market, Chandni Chowk, and Bengali Market.

It all started with Amitabh asking Kajol how she would like to spend the prize money from the show. To this, her reply was that markets were more to her tastes than malls. This gave Amitabh a cue to reminisce about himself, saying that he did visit all those places in his younger days. He playfully asked Kajol, “Did you visit the South Campus often?”

Amitabh replied with a smile, “Devi Ji, well, now I am married and have grandchildren. Those were my youthful days. If I start talking about it, all my gravel will come out in the open!”

In between the demands from us to tell more, Mr. Amitabh admitted he had been to the Sarojini market but only when he was in college, and at that time he did not bargain. He would also go to Miranda House and spend time there before going to college.
