Amitabh Bachchan Reacts to KBC 16 Question About Visiting Girls’ Colleges: ‘Those Were the Days of Youth’
Recently, Sony Entertainment Television dropped a new promo of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 as the show’s favourite host and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan reminisced about his college days.
Well, very few know that Amitabh is a science graduate from Kirori Mal College, which falls under Delhi University’s North Campus. The legendary actor completed his graduation in 1962.
One of the lighter moments in the show came when one of the contestants asked Amitabh if he ever visited DU’s South Campus.
She asked, “Aap beech beech mein South Campus bhi aate the kya? LSR, Gargi, Kamala Nehru ke aas paas Amused by the question, Amitabh replied humorously, referring to his alma mater at North Campus.
Incidentally, Lady Shri Ram College, too, is situated at North Campus. True to his charming self, Amitabh said, “Dekhiye devi ji, ab hum shaadi-shuda ho gaye hai, aur nati-pota bhi ho gaye hai.
Ab woh zamana jo tha, wo jawani ka zamana tha, hai na? Uske bare mein aapko kya bataye? Abhi batane se humari poori pole khul jayegi.
Aur yeh sarvjanik karyakram hai, log thoda sochenge ‘Acha aisa tha woh?
‘ Humara impression kharab ho jayega (I am now married with grandchildren. Those were the days of my youth. If I talk about it, my whole story will come out and people might start judging me in this family show).”
Amitabh’s Memories of Kirori Mal College
It is not the first time when the actor has spoken about his college days. On one of the episodes of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 last year, Amitabh lovingly remembered his days at Kirori Mal College after being shown the introductory video of a contestant with the institution.
He spoke nostalgically about his time at the college hostel, “There were so many great things in the video. One of them was that I studied in this college…that hostel room is lovely, isn’t it? It’s on a corner.
You can see the wall from that room. We used to jump that wall to watch movies.” On a lighter note, he revealed that he had felt his years in college were being wasted as he did nothing during this time.
