Amitabh Bachchan’s casting as Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s science fiction epic Kalki 2898 AD thrilled the internet. Due to his longevity, the figure is well-known in Indian mythology. Internet users have taken notice of a blink-and-miss still of Amitabh de-aging into a youthful visage.

Introducing Ashwatthama is the title of a new video that the creators unveiled on Sunday night. It featured an elderly Amitabh discussing his life experiences throughout the decades with a small youngster. A specific still shows the megastar in a de-aged state as glimpses of his life are presented. Amitabh has his trademark gloomy, long black hair and a mustache. His brow is adorned with a radiating yellow stone, which is most likely what gives him his immortality.

People were excited on the internet when they saw that specific still. A user said, “The biggest celebrity the Indian film business has seen for the past 50 years and counting… What a fantastic occasion to commemorate his youth as ASHWTTHAMA in 2024! Somebody else shared this: “Young Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama (surprise emoji).” Another said, “Great work by the team of Kalki 2898AD on both technology and detailing.” A third was also posted. The intense Sunday Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) saw the release of the 21-second teaser.

The ability to conceptualize such a product, its implementation, its exposure to contemporary technologies, and most importantly, its companionship with colleagues who possess a stratospheric Super Star presence. Nag Ashwin, who made his directorial debuts with Yevade Subramanyam and Mahanati, is directing the science fiction film. The film is presented as an extravagant science fiction spectacle set in the future with mythological themes. Additionally, the world of Kalki 2898 AD includes actors Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. When it made its ground-breaking debut at San Diego Comic-Con the previous year, it was greeted with thunderous applause from the global community.
