Amit Shah Slams Rahul Gandhi’s US Remarks: ‘Aligning with Forces to Divide India’

On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched an all-out attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of taking a stand along with forces that are bent upon ‘dividing’ India.

Shah castigated Gandhi for what he termed as anti-national statements and charged the Congress with pursuing divisive politics through regionalism, religions, and linguistic differences.

Shah’s remarks were in response to a series of critical statements by Rahul Gandhi, who recently undertook a tour of the United States. He had squarely and publicly blasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government over an array of issues.

In a string of posts on X, Amit Shah lashed out at the comments by Gandhi as, “Be it siding with JKNC’s anti-national and anti-reservation agenda in J&K or making anti-India statements abroad, Rahul Gandhi has always compromised the security of the nation and insulted national sentiments.”

During an interaction with students at Georgetown University, Rahul Gandhi had attacked the reservation system of India, saying, “We will consider scrapping reservations when India becomes a fair place.

And India is not a fair place.” He drew attention to how different marginalised communities get varying financial resources and renewed his call for a caste census with a large section of the population still under-represented.

Amit Shah responded to the statements by Gandhi and charged him with showing the true face of the Congress party, which was against reservations.

Shah said, “By speaking for the abolition of reservations, Rahul Gandhi has brought the anti-reservation face of the Congress party before the public.

The BJP will ensure that reservations remain intact and national security is maintained,” he further said, promising that the BJP would not let anyone play with national unity and security.
