Amit Shah Launches ‘Dealers, Dalaal, Damaad’ Attack on Congress During Haryana Poll Rally

Amit Shah Launches ‘Dealers, Dalaal, Damaad’ Attack on Congress During Haryana Poll Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the previous Congress government while speaking at a poll rally in Haryana, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier statements. Shah accused Congress of allowing the state to be run by “dealers, dalaals (brokers), and damaads (sons-in-law)” before the BJP took over.

During another rally in Rewari ahead of next month’s assembly election, he condemned it further: “This regime only had cuts, commissions, and corruption.” Under Congress rule, there were only “dealers, brokers, and sons-in-law—bbut no longer,” he said at a third event. “Now there are no brokers or dealers either—nor any damaads!”

Shah also pointed out how the BJP has helped farmers with its Minimum Support Price (MSP) program. Taking a dig at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, he underlined the party’s achievements and said, “Rahul Baba, do you even know the difference between Kharif crop and Rabi crop? The BJP government in Haryana is buying 24 crops at MSP. Can any government led by the Congress say that they have done this before?”

Shah additionally criticized Rahul Gandhi’s comments on SC/ST/OBC reservation policies while in the U.S. He alleged that Gandhi stated reservations would end if Congress came to power: “Rahul Baba went abroad and said in English that they will end reservations for ST, SC, and OBC categories. As long as there’s a single BJP MP in Parliament, you won’t be able to end reservation.” Haryana will vote for a new assembly on October 5, with results a few days later on October 8.
