Alex Cooper: Podcaster Behind Call Her Daddy Signs $125M Deal with SiriusXM, Faces Controversy Over Priyanka Chopra Remarks

The Hollywood Reporter claims that SiriusXM and Alex Cooper, the popular podcast host, have signed a record-breaking $125 million deal. Starting in 2025, Call Her Daddy will be free to download and accessible on all streaming services, including Spotify.

In the deal, SiriusXM will have exclusive distribution and ad rights, adding to this an expanded portfolio of brands from Unwell, including Pretty Lonesome With Madleine Argy, Hot Mess With Alix Earle, In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele, and Boyfriend Material With Harry Jowsey.

Details of the Deal

It’s a deal that’s been running for just a bit over three years now, eclipsing Alex’s record-breaking $60 million contract with Spotify, signed in 2021. That being said, Alex showed excitement toward working with SiriusXM: “I am so beyond excited to be moving to SiriusXM.

The Daddy Gang will always come first for me, and with SiriusXM, we will just continue to be looking at new ways of evolving and keeping my listeners in the best experience possible. The Daddy Gang wants more, so we’re getting ready to give them more … I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.”. Background on Alex Cooper and Call Her Daddy:

Launched in 2018, Call Her Daddy almost immediately proved to be a hit with the original hosts—Alex and Sofia Franklyn—before being snagged up by Barstool Sports. Alex’s podcast became a manifestation of modern-day feminism in 2021 after she obtained a contract with Spotify following her dispute with Sofia in 2020.

To name a few, it has also welcomed a number of extremely well-known visitors, including John Mayer, Miley Cyrus, Hailey Bieber, Post Malone, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Priyanka Chopra. In its compliments, the podcast is highly esteemed.

Personal Background

Alex Cooper was born in Pennsylvania in August 1994, and early in 2021 alone, being referred to by Time Magazine as “arguably the most successful woman in podcasting.” She marries producer Matt Kaplan on April 6, 2024, in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Priyanka Chopra controversy An episode featuring Priyanka Chopra, immediately following her release,-mostly controversial- came out of Call Her Daddy. While Chopra opened up about being bullied and exhibited the trajectory of her career, out came the resurfacing of a 2020 podcast with Sofia Franklyn containing disparaging comments about both Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas. The episode was later taken down but created further muddlement in how the Cooper’s pod narrative has played out.
