Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth File for Divorce After 18 Years of Marriage: Report

Filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth and actor Dhanush filed for divorce more than two years after declaring their split. The couple recently filed for divorce at the Chennai family court, according to a story from India Today.

They filed the suit under Section 13 B—divorce by mutual consent—according to the report, which cited its sources. They will shortly have their case heard. For the previous two years, Dhanush and Aishwarya had lived apart.

They announced separation in 2022 with a note.

In January 2022, they made their decision to split public. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dhanush said, “We have 18 years of history together—as friends, a couple, parents, and well-wishers. It has been a voyage of learning, development, and adaptation. We have come to a point where our paths diverge today. I’ve made the decision to split up with Aishwaryaa as a pair in order to give ourselves more space to grow as people. Please respect our choice and grant us the privacy we require to handle this. About Dhanush and Aishwaryaa’s lives

The identical message was posted by Aishwaryaa on Instagram with the remark, “No caption is needed. Just your love and understanding are required.” In 2004, renowned actor Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa and Dhanush sealed the knot. Yatra and Linga, their two kids, were born in 2006 and 2010, respectively. They were spotted at their son’s school functions following the news of their breakup.

Aishwaryaa and Dhanush’s films

Lal Salaam marked Aishwaryaa’s return to directing following their breakup. Rajinikanth made a lengthy cameo appearance as Moideen Bhai. In the lead roles of the movie are Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal as well. The last movie Dhanush appeared in was Captain Miller, which Prime Video aired on February 9. In an impending biopic, he is all set to play music maestro Ilaiyaraaja. The director, Arun Matheswaran, will oversee it.
