Adobe Introduces AI Assistant to Reader and Acrobat: Discover How It Works

Adobe has released Reader and Acrobat, which come with its new generative AI helper. The new AI helper is incorporated into the Acrobat and Reader processes and is currently in beta. In addition to answering queries, the new AI assistant can produce summaries and insights from lengthy documents and clean data that can be shared in emails, reports, and presentations.

The assistant spreads awareness of generative AI’s potential. The new helper, according to the corporation, will aid in releasing fresh value from data found in more than three trillion PDFs globally.

The same AI and machine learning models that underpin Acrobat Liquid Mode—a feature that enables mobile PDF reading—also serve as the basis for Adobe’s new AI helper. The AI assistant produces outputs that are more dependable and of higher quality because to the deep comprehension of PDF text provided by Adobe’s proprietary models.

According to Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Document Cloud at Adobe, “generative AI offers the promise of more intelligent document experiences by transforming the information inside PDFs into actionable knowledge and professional-looking content.” “The features unveiled today are just the beginning of the value AI Assistant will deliver through Reader and Acrobat applications and services. PDF is the de facto standard for the world’s most important documents,” he said.

The AI assistant beta is currently available for use by users of Acrobat Individual, Pro, and Teams as well as those using the Acrobat Pro trial edition. The functionality should soon be available in Acrobat Reader.

Formatted output: The AI Assistant can compile and organize data into key insights, content for emails, reports, and more when it comes to information sharing. The content can be copied using the copy button, then pasted to be shared.

It should be mentioned that the AI Assistant works with a variety of document formats, including Word, PowerPoint, transcripts from meetings, and more. According to Adobe, data security mechanisms control the AI Assistant features in Reader and Acrobat, and no customer document material is saved or utilized to train AI Assistant without the user’s permission.
