Former India opener alerts KKR to a possible Mitchell Starc vulnerability in the 2024 IPL

Former India opener alerts KKR to a possible Mitchell Starc vulnerability in the 2024 IPL

Former India opener Aakash Chopra fires a caution to KKR over pacer Mitchell Starc ahead of IPL 2024. Chopra warns that there might be overdependence on the Australian star in terms of pace bowling. Starc returns to the IPL after a long time, making his way into IPL 2024 as the wealthiest purchase in the league’s history.

In a most recent video on his YouTube channel, Chopra focuses on the fact that KKR’s Indian pace bowling unit is small and unpracticed. He feels that this would in turn put more weight on Starc, hence the side over depending on him.

“There might be overreliance on Starc. Harshit Rana is a great bowler, but he isn’t a wrapped-up item. Andre Russell’s bowling is too good. The truth that KKR will likely be over depending on Starc for pace bowling is something that bothers me a little,” Chopra explains. This IPL season marks Mitchell Starc’s much-anticipated comeback after about a decade.

He already played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the early seasons of the IPL, taking 34 wickets in two seasons. Speaking to cricket.com.au, Mitchell Starc communicated his energy for the challenge ahead. He recognized the “circus” air of the IPL but emphasized his availability to grasp it. This return guarantees an energetic show of aptitude as Starc joins a new group with a recharged sense of purpose.
