Tere Ishk Mein’s highly awaited Kriti Sanon and Dhanush duo has finally been announced. In a trailer released on Tuesday, the film’s creators show off Kriti in a compelling part that captures the complexity and emotional range of her performance. The trailer, accompanied by an eerie orchestral accompaniment, promises a cinematic experience that will linger long after the credits have rolled.

Fans are already overwhelmingly excited about Kriti’s announcement as the female protagonist. “The roles Kriti has been taking up lately are truly remarkable, and I’ll be there on opening day for this one!” exclaimed one admirer, expressing their excitement. The film is adorned with the majestic soundtrack composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman and the poetic lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Rai earlier said that Tere Ishk Mein and his 2013 film Raanjhanaa are related, stating that although they have similar themes, they follow different storylines. “It comes from the Raanjhanaa universe, but Instead of being an extension, it is an expansion. It adds a new plot thread and deepens the emotional impact,” he said.

Tere Ishk Mein, written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, will explore a new, poignant story while retaining the deep, passionate love that made Raanjhanaa memorable. According to Rai, the movie represents a major turning point in his career as a filmmaker and is a personal examination of love and grief. Following delays brought on by Dhanush’s previous obligations, Tere Ishk Mein’s production is scheduled to start in October 2024, with a 2025 theatrical release date.
