Eknath Shinde Demands Home Portfolio in Devendra Fadnavis-Led Maharashtra Government: Shiv Sena
Eknath Shinde, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, led the Shiv Sena in emphasizing their interest on Friday in the express government’s crucial home portfolio. According to reports, the Mahayuti alliance—which comprises Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Shiv Sena—is having warmed banter on the most proficient method to split significant services. Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP was sworn in as the Chief Minister after the Mahayuti won a resounding win in last month’s assembly elections. Twelve days after the vote results, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took their oaths on Thursday along with their deputies.
In response to the demand, Shiv Sena MLA Bharat Gogavale said, “Fadnavis held the home department while serving as deputy chief minister in the previous Shinde-led administration. Saheb has now called for the same arrangement, and talks are still going on. Gogavale further stated that the demand had probably been sent to either Union Home Minister Amit Shah or Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and he was hopeful that the allocation process will be finished in two days. According to reports, prominent Sena leaders convinced Shinde to accept the position of Deputy Chief Minister when he first hesitated. He is unwavering, nevertheless, in his commitment to protecting the home department, which is in charge of the state police force.

Significant changes have happened during Eknath Shinde’s political profession. He drove an uprising against then-Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in June 2022, which caused the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration to disintegrate and the Shiv Sena to in an upward direction split. With the support of the BJP, Shinde then took over as boss pastor, with Fadnavis filling in as his delegate. Ajit Pawar joined the alliance in July 2023, which expanded the alliance’s impact much further.
