Tragic Bus Accident in Uttarakhand’s Almora: At Least 22 Killed After Vehicle Falls Into Gorge
At least 22 people were killed after a crowded bus in Uttarakhand’s Almora district crashed into a 200-meter-deep chasm on Monday morning close to Ramnagar. When the tragic bus collapsed at Marchula while heading from Garhwal to Kumaon, it was carrying roughly 40 passengers, including several children, according to District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Orders Swift Relief Operations
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami responded to the unfortunate event by directing the district administration to speed relief operations and expressing his sorrow. “The district administration and SDRF teams are actively working at the site to evacuate and provide medical aid to the injured,” said Dhami.
To guarantee that seriously injured passengers receive prompt medical assistance, he also gave officials the order to airlift them. “Instructions have been given to airlift severely injured passengers if necessary,” as Dhami tweeted. While authorities try to help the injured and look into what caused the accident, rescue, and relief efforts are in progress.
