Alia Bhatt and her husband Ranbir Kapoor’s family have always been close, and this is evident in their recent trip to Paris with mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor. Alia recently highlighted her sister-in-law Riddhima Kapoor’s role in the family in a heartfelt interview with Galatta India.

Riddhima is the person who has access to all of the world’s Khabar, or news. She nonchalantly delivers the most shocking rumors, and most of the time, they turn out to be accurate. However, she is also the most kind, loving, and kind person who just has love to give. She is far ahead of all of us, especially her brother (Ranbir),” Alia added. She teaches Raha a lot of things and is also the most amazing and interesting bua (aunt). I do “Uma Joshi ye ye ye” over twenty times a day because of you. Having you in my life as the most amazing sister—not sister-in-law, because you are more than that—makes me very happy and thankful.

In the same interview, Riddhima responded to the praise by describing how Alia has been a fantastic addition to the Kapoor family. She commended Alia for keeping tight relationships with everyone, something that even Ranbir and Riddhima struggle with. She further disclosed that while she is learning how to pronounce “bua,” her niece Raha Kapoor lovingly refers to her as “booha.”

Alia and Riddhima’s Journey

Alia, who wed Riddhima’s brother Ranbir in their Mumbai home in 2022, will soon be reunited with him on screen with Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The movie will be released on Eid 2026. Alia is also preparing for Alpha, a YRF Spy Universe film that co-stars Sharvari Wagh and is directed by Shiv Rawail.

In the meantime, Riddhima joined celebrities Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, and Seema Sajdeh in their on-screen debut on Netflix India’s The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives Season 3, which was produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment.
