Uttar Pradesh Labourer Shot by Terrorists in Kashmir’s Tral Area

Shubam Kumar, an Uttar Pradesh laborer, was shot and wounded by terrorists on Thursday in the Tral neighborhood of the Pulwama region of South Kashmir. Police reported that Kumar, a Bijnore resident, was hit in the arm after terrorists opened fire in Batagund village. He received treatment immediately at a hospital, where his condition is stable.

This is the third attack in a week on non-local laborers in Kashmir. Six foreign workers and a local physician were killed in a terrible terror attack on Sunday at a building site in the Ganderbal district. APCO Infratech, the firm in charge of constructing the Z-Morh tunnel on the Srinagar-Sonamarg route, employed the victims.

CCTV footage showed two terrorists, carrying an AK-47 and an American-made M4 carbine, at a workers’ camp in the Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir for seven minutes on October 20. At approximately 7:25 p.m., while workers were having supper, the terrorists attacked the camp near the Srinagar-Leh national highway, killing seven civilians.

Since June 9, when nine pilgrims perished in a bus accident tied to terrorism in Reasi, this attack is the deadliest to target civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ashok Kumar Chavan, a Bihar laborer, was murdered by terrorists in the Shopian district on October 18, just days before the Ganderbal attack. His bullet-riddled body was discovered in Zainpora’s Wachi neighborhood. This was the Valley’s first targeted murder since Omar Abdullah’s civilian administration retook power on October 16.
