Canada Police Claims Bishnoi Gang Connected to Indian Government Agents

The Bishnoi gang is one of the criminal groups that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on Monday are being used by “agents of the Government of India” to “target the South Asian community,” especially pro-Khalistani elements in Canada. Amid continuing diplomatic controversy over Ottawa’s allegations that Indian operatives were involved in the murder of Canadian citizen and Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijjar, Commissioner Mike Duheme and Deputy Commissioner Brigitte Gauvin made this charge.

“The Indian government is specifically targeting pro-Khalistani elements in Canada, but they are also targeting the South Asian community,” Ms. Gauvin claimed. From the standpoint of the RCMP, we have seen that they employ components of organized crime. She underlined that the Bishnoi gang has openly acknowledged its role in these actions, suggesting a relationship with Indian government operatives.

In response to questions concerning specific charges made against these agents, Mr. Duheme acknowledged claims of “homicide, extortion, intimidation, and coercion.” Additionally, according to the police officers, certain Indian diplomatic personnel work with organized crime to obtain information about Canadians, which is subsequently passed on to criminal groups that may commit violent crimes like extortion and murder.

India has responded by vehemently denouncing what it calls “preposterous imputations,” including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claims that India is “supporting criminal activity against Canadians.” The Trudeau administration has been under fire from the Indian government for not producing proof despite repeated requests since the first accusations were made.

Additionally, the Indian External Affairs Ministry denied allegations that five employees and Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma were “persons of interest.” In response to these allegations, Canada ejected the six people, claiming that India had not cooperated with its inquiry.

Trudeau reaffirmed the accusations against the Indian government shortly after the RCMP’s press conference, saying, “It is clear that the Government of India made a fundamental mistake in believing they could facilitate criminal action against Canadians on Canadian territory. Murders, extortion, and other violent crimes are completely unacceptable. India and Canada have reciprocally expelled diplomats as a result of the current tensions; India claims that its personnel were removed for security reasons. Stewart Wheeler, Canada’s acting High Commissioner, and his deputy were expelled by India.

One of the most feared criminal groups in India is the Bishnoi gang, which is run by Lawrence Bishnoi from his prison cell in Gujarat. Gangster Goldy Brar has connections to Canada. Known for its wide-ranging network, the gang is implicated in arms trafficking and extortion of high-profile individuals and has allegedly committed multiple murders, including the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. A powerful group of about 700 hitmen enforces the gang’s activities.
