Virat Kohli’s Hilarious Response to Hotel Staff: ‘Sir, Do Hi Haath Hain’ in Kanpur

Virat Kohli, the backbone of the Indian cricket team, came to Kanpur on Tuesday for the second Test against Bangladesh. As usual, there was a crowd to greet him at the hotel, where he gets an especially warm welcome from fans and hotel employees alike.

This attention can sometimes overwhelm even the most seasoned players. Upon his arrival, one staffer gave Kohli flowers while another tried to shake his hand. Lightly but with humor, Kohli said, “Sir, do hi haath hain” (Sir, I only have two hands). The man seemed slightly taken aback before thanking all and walking off; everybody laughed.

In India’s recent cricket Test match against Bangladesh at Chepauk, captain Kohli didn’t play his best game. However, India still managed to win by 280 runs. Kohli was out cheaply in both innings—for 6 runs and 17 runs—falling to Hasan Mahmud and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, respectively.

Also arriving with the squad were head coach Gambhir plus keeper Pant; all three checked into the team hotel together. Gambhir’s coaching tenure could not have gotten off to a better start: he oversaw a huge victory in his maiden Test at the helm, played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Pant spectacularly returned to Test cricket. He scored 109 runs during the second inning, mixing aggressive and defensive shots that frustrated Bangladeshi bowlers while delighting Indian fans who remembered past glories. In his first inning, Pant made a promising start: he hit 39 runs from 52 deliveries before falling to Hasan Mahmud, who was on fire!
