Kanguva Release Date Update: Suriya and Bobby Deol’s Fantasy-Action Film Now Set for November 14

A new release date has been set for the much awaited fantasy-action film Kanguva, directed by Siva and starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani.

The movie, which was first scheduled to open on October 10, will now open on November 14. The movie’s makers, Studio Green, made the announcement on X, which was originally Twitter.

“The Battle of Pride and Glory, for the World to Witness. #Kanguva’s mighty reign storms screens from 14-11-24. #KanguvaFromNov14,” Studio Green wrote in a post.

The release date was shifted to avoid conflicting with TJ Gnanavel’s upcoming Rajinikanth film Vettaiyan, which is scheduled to premiere during Dasara.

Reactions to the news among fans were divided. While some people were happy that Kanguva would now be available on Children’s Day, others expressed dissatisfaction that it wouldn’t make its premiere around Diwali.

One of the fans said, “Good… anticipated one… I was hoping they will share glimpses of other characters other than historical parts and begin their promotions sooner. “Suriya won’t even clash with SK, JR, and Kavin for Diwali,” another commenter remarked.

Kanguva features an amazing supporting cast that includes Jagapathi Babu, KS Ravikumar, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Anandaraj.

The original idea was to release the movie in 2019, but it was delayed because to the Covid-19 epidemic. But in 2022, it was given new life, and the filming was finished in 2024. The film’s editor is Nishadh Yusuf, cinematographer is Vetri Palanisamy, and composer is Devi Sri Prasad.

Suriya will play two different characters: a modern man and a warrior tribesman. The first posters hinted at this, but other than that, most of the plot specifics are still unknown.

The historical scenes were the main focus of the teaser and trailer, with Bobby Deol’s character’s fierce fight with Suriya taking center stage.

Suriya’s Upcoming Work

There’s been a discernible excitement surrounding Suriya’s big-screen comeback. In 2022, he gave his final full-length performance as Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Since then, he has only had a few cameos in films, such as Vikram, Sarfira, and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Suriya is producing Meiyazhagan, which stars his brother Karthi and Aravind Swamy, in addition to Kanguva. He is currently working on another film with Karthik Subbaraj.

Now that Kanguva debuts on November 14th, fans may anticipate seeing Suriya back in action in this epic fantasy film.
