RG Kar Rape-Murder Case: CBI Finds Sandip Ghosh’s Polygraph Test Responses Deceptive

RG Kar Rape-Murder Case: CBI Finds Sandip Ghosh’s Polygraph Test Responses Deceptive

Central Bureau of Investigation officials had revealed that the former principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandip Ghosh had shown misleading answers in both the polygraph test and layered voice analysis.

Ghosh has been facing a probe over the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor on August 9 at the hospital.

The CBI contends that Ghosh received information about the crime at 9:58 AM but delayed filing a police complaint and later filed only a vague report.

Ghosh also introduced, for the first time, the theory of suicide, which again contradicts the visible external injuries on the body of the victim.

“He did not lodge an immediate FIR. Instead, the theory of suicide was introduced, which is at variance with the external injuries found on the victim whose lower body was undressed,” the CBI told.

It is alleged that Ghosh contacted OC of Tala Police Station, Abhijit Mondal at 10:03 AM, with the unnatural death case being registered at 11:30 AM.

Mondal was also arrested in connection with the case and accused of deliberate delay in arriving at the crime scene. A misleading general diary entry was made, stating that the body of the trainee doctor lay “unconscious” in the seminar room of the chest medicine department, although it had been confirmed by a doctor that the victim was dead.

The CBI contends that the general diary entry has been filed with an intent to fabricate the record in connivance with hospital authorities and unknown persons.

They contend that Mondal had delayed filing of the FIR and preservation of the crime scene, resulting in destruction of the crucial evidence.

He has further been accused of trying to shield Sanjay Roy, a police volunteer, and others, who entered the crime scene without permission.

The victim was raped and murdered in the seminar hall, where her body was found by a doctor after she had gone there to sleep.

Sanjay Roy, arrested based on CCTV footage showing him entering the room at 4:03 in the morning, was reportedly found to have given misleading information according to a CFSL report from New Delhi.

Ghosh and Mondal were arrested on Saturday. Ghosh was facing charges in a separate case on similar charges of financial irregularities.
