Shah Rukh Khan’s King to Clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Love & War on Eid 2026: A Bollywood Showdown
In the year 2007, Ranbir Kapoor entered D-town with Saawariya, which happened to fall on the same week as Farah Khan’s reincarnation drama Om Shanti Om, which featured Shah Rukh Khan as its hero.
A Diwali release, Om Shanti Om became the ultimate winner of that clash. Nineteen years after that, the two actors are all geared up to clash once again this time at Eid 2026, if reports are anything to go by.
Shah Rukh’s highly anticipated crime drama King is all set to clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which boasts an ensemble cast featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.
Eid 2026 Clash: Battle of the Titans
For years, Eid has been the bastion of Salman Khan, as several of his blockbuster films have hit the screens during the auspicious Eid period.
However, in 2026, two other big guns are staking their claim over this coveted slot. King is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and co-produced by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures.
King is eyeing Eid, March 20, 2026. A source informs, “As things stand today, with the timeline of the shoot, King will be released on Eid 2026, which will mark Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the festival after the mammoth success of Chennai Express.”
At the same time, Bhansali Productions announced that Love & War, which was earlier scheduled for Christmas 2025, would arrive on Eid 2026.
The film reunites Bhansali with Ranbir Kapoor after Saawariya in 2007 and with Alia Bhatt after Gangubai Kathiawadi succeeded in 2022. With the clash looming large in 2026, the stage is set for an epic fight between Bollywood’s two behemoths.
King vs. Love & War: What to Expect Badhiya Love & War comes with much expected zest for its theatrical worth, since it teams up Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt once again after Brahmastra: Part One.
The movie feels like a grand reunion of sorts, considering Vicky Kaushal was in attendance- he has shared screen space with Alia in Raazi and Ranbir in Sanju.
On the other hand, King will be a hard-hitting crime thriller by Sujoy Ghosh, boasting Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. The film will also star Abhishek Bachchan as the prime antagonist alongside Munjya actor Abhay Verma.
If that is not enough, King will also mark the much-anticipated big-screen debut of Shah Rukh’s daughter, Suhana Khan.
