Varanasi Schoolgirl Pulls Off Daylight Scooter Theft After Owner Hands Over Keys – Dhoom 4 Reality?
In a filmy incident, a schoolgirl in Varanasi committed a daylight scooter theft. Wearing a school uniform, she deceived the owner into handing over the key, on the pretext of getting the vehicle aligned.
Once the key was handed over, she coolly switched it on and fled, leaving all those who witnessed the incident aghast. The whole heist has been captured in the CCTV footage, which has gone viral.
The incident occurred in Kabir Nagar, Varanasi, around 9:30 am. The complaint lodged by the victim at Bhelupur Police Station stated that the girl came near the scooter owner and asked for its keys to move it for some vague reason.
The victim, trusting the girl, handed over the keys and asked a neighbor to keep an eye on her. It was then that the girl, in an unexpected twist, instead of just moving the scooter, took it away-as captured on the CCTV camera.
The girl is seen in the video moving the blue TVS Jupiter scooter and, after some time, casually taking a turn on it and riding away. The video then sparked a massive online response with so many people sharing the video, asking for immediate action.
The Varanasi incident is part of the bigger and most challenging trend of daylight theft across the country. Brazen similar acts are reported from elsewhere, including from Bengaluru’s Indiranagar where miscreants broke into parked cars using some special tool to steal valuables.

In Tamil Nadu, in another incident, a software engineer experienced a smashed car window and had stolen belongings in broad daylight; it was caught on CCTV and went viral.
Such brazen thefts show that there has grown a particular need for security improvements and vigilance.
