Chinmayi Sripaada Defends Imane Khelif Against Global Criticism: ‘Imane Is a Born Woman

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada, who is well-known for her strong opinions on social media and for advocating for women’s rights, has defended Imane Khelif. The Algerian boxer, who failed the now-banned International Boxing Association’s unclear and opaque eligibility requirements for women’s competition last year, is being ridiculed for having competed in and destroyed her opponent in a woman’s boxing match at the Olympics in Paris.

What Chinmayi said

Imane Khelif is a born woman, according to Chinmayi, who also posted an image of her as a youngster on X. She does not resemble a male.In Algeria, the nation she represents, it is against the law and forbidden for someone to alter their gender. The outstanding sportswoman Shanthi Soundarrajan has been the target of harassment and abuse from Indians simply because she doesn’t appear like a woman in their eyes. I’m hoping Imane is doing well. She is being bullied all across the world, and it looks terrible. Here is a young Imane Khelif.

Chinmayi responds to JK Rowling

The popular British author of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, was among those who took issue with Imane’s involvement in a women’s boxing contest. After the match, she posted a photo of Imane with her opponent Angela Carini on X, writing, “Is there a picture that better captures the spirit of our new men’s rights movement? The smug smile of a man who is aware that a misogynistic sports establishment is shielding him while he revels in the pain of a lady he has just struck in the head and destroyed his life’s aim.

In response to JK Rowling, Chinmayi also reshared a photo of Imane from her early years. “How heroes fall,” she captioned the photo. Someone show this picture to J.K. Rowling. Because Imane is a member of a race and religion that the average white person dislikes, I’m pretty sure Rowling won’t feel bad about what she has unleashed on the world. “She was born, she was registered, she lived her life as a female, she was boxed as a female, and she has a female passport,” stated Imane Khelif, according to a statement from the International Olympic Committee on Friday. “Do not turn it into some kind of witch hunt,” he said.
