Violence Has No Place in Politics”: PM Modi Condemns Attack on “Friend” Donald Trump

The assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump during an election rally in Pennsylvania is concerning, but violence has no place in politics or democracies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated this morning. I am quite disturbed by the assault on my friend, the former president Donald Trump. Express your strong disapproval of the event. In politics and democracies, violence has no place. PM Modi wrote on X, “Wishing him a swift recovery.” “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people,” he said.

The leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Congress member, Rahul Gandhi, expressed his “deep concern” about the assassination attempt. “The attempt on the life of former US President Donald Trump worries me greatly. Strong condemnations must be issued for such activities. I’m hoping for a quick and full recovery for him,” he remarked on X.

Trump was shot at on Saturday during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. According to the 78-year-old, the bullet went through his right ear. Pictures from the protest showed him, covered in blood, being pushed by security personnel off the platform. One bystander was killed and two others suffered serious injuries as the assailant fired multiple shots. The security guards shot and killed him, although they haven’t yet recognized them.

After the shooting, US President Joe Biden, who is running against Trump in the US election scheduled for November, met with his fiercest opponent and harshly denounced the crime. America is not the place for this kind of brutality. It is ill. It is ill. It’s among the causes for which this nation needs to be together. In an emergency briefing following the assault on Trump, Biden warned reporters, “We cannot be like this, we cannot condone this.”

The notion that political violence, or violence of this kind, occurs in America is simply unheard of. It’s simply not suitable. Everyone has to denounce it, everyone. All of them,” stated Biden. “I was informed about the incident that occurred during a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Hearing that he is secure and doing well makes me happy. I’m sending up prayers for him, his family, and everyone else who attended the event while we wait for more details. The Secret Service saved his life and for that Jill and I are thankful. Such violence has no place in the United States of America. In a post on X, Biden stated, “To denounce it, we must come together as a nation.”
