Hathras Stampede Death Count Rises to 121, Search Underway for Godman

New Delhi: On Tuesday, at a’satsang’ (prayer meeting) hosted by a self-styled godman, Bhole Baba, aka Narayan Saakar Hari, in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras, a stampede resulted in the deaths of over 100 people, including women and children.

At his ‘ashram’ in Mainpuri, approximately 100 kilometers away from Phulrai hamlet, where he conducted the tragic event that was seen by thousands of followers, he is thought to be.

While some senior police officials are at Hathras’ ashram, the Ram Kutir Charitable Trust, others have arrived at the scene of the rush. A committee has been established to look into the occurrence.
