India has become a hub for unemployment under PM Modi: Rahul Gandhi in Bihar
Gandhi attacked the Modi government during an electoral rally in Bhagalpur, Bihar, bringing up topics like unemployment and economic hardship.
On April 26, the constituencies of Kishanganj, Purnea, Katihar, Bhagalpur, and Banka will host the second round of voting. On Friday, the first phase of elections was held in Gaya (SC), Aurangabad, Jamui (SC), and Nawada.
Because they don’t have work, Gandhi claimed that the majority of young people spend seven to eight hours a day on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. “The nation’s unemployment rate has increased under Modi. Demonetisation and the incorrect Goods and Services Tax regime have decimated those who can create jobs,” he asserted.
Declaring that the alliance would guarantee the “first job guarantee” for all graduates and diploma holders by offering them ₹1 lakh each year and allowing them to join the apprenticeship program for a year with various industries under the private and public sectors, he presented the INDIA bloc’s vision for economic empowerment and job market transformation. “The industries where they complete their internships will hire the better performers, and the unemployed trained labour force in the nation will comprise the remaining group,” he continued.
Gandhi claimed that the government had forgiven the debt of roughly ₹16 lakh crore that 20–22 industrial houses owed, and he stated that the money that had been waived for businesspeople would be used to support the economic empowerment of the community. “We plan to provide ₹1 lakh, or ₹8,500 per month, to one woman in every impoverished family within a year. The Wayanad Congress MP stated that the money would be used for the welfare of the family.
Gandhi added that just “22 people of the country” were able to acquire assets worth more than 70 crore people when combined and that the Modi-led administration was responsible for exacerbating the gap between the rich and the poor.

Major government infrastructure, such as ports, electricity, airports, defence, etc., is being sold away to a select group of businessmen. But the Center is powerless to help farmers, the impoverished, or any other marginalized group, he declared.
Gandhi further promised that the INDIA bloc would remove temporary recruitment methods, reinstate the former defence force recruitment procedure, and double the honorarium paid to ASHA and Anganwadi workers if elected to power. The minimum salary would also be raised to ₹400.
The ceremony was attended by Bihar Congress chairman Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Bihar Congress in-charge Mohan Prakash, former deputy chief minister of Bihar and RJD politician Tejashwi Yadav, and chief of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, Mukesh Sahni.
