PM Modi’s Commentary on Global Tensions Amid Iran-Israel Conflict Sparks Attention

The globe is going through “uncertain times,” according to PM Narendra Modi, who stated on Sunday that this makes a stable majority government all the more necessary. On a day when Iran’s proxies and allies carried out coordinated attacks on Israeli sites, Prime Minister Modi made his remarks during the unveiling of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 in New Delhi. Despite years of animosity stemming from the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Iran has never before launched a direct military attack on Israel. This attack occurred less than two weeks after a suspected Israeli strike in Syria that claimed the lives of two Iranian generals in an Iranian consulate building.

Modi stated, “The cloud of uncertainty is hovering over the world today,” without naming any specific nation. There is a state of conflict. Everything is tight. Our top goal during these emergencies is the safety of the Indian residents of these areas. In times of global tensions like these, it is even more important to have a strong, stable government with a majority—one that will propel the nation quickly toward “Viksit Bharat” and economic prosperity. The BJP is committed to achieving this. A guarantee for one such government is provided by the BJP manifesto. Iran’s historic nocturnal onslaught, according to the Israeli military on Sunday, has been “foiled,” with hundreds of missiles and drones intercepted with assistance from the US and allies.

Amidst the current conflict between Israel and Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group, in the Gaza Strip, the strike, which started late on Saturday, represents a significant intensification of the long-running clandestine war between the regional adversaries. One of the first international leaders to denounce the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and to show resolute support for the nation was Modi. India appears to have reevaluated its strategy in light of its past positions on Palestine and a two-state solution, as well as its other Middle Eastern alliances, as the ensuing conflict has dragged on for months.
