Robert Downey Jr. says he would gladly return as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: ‘Never Bet Against Kevin Feige’
Robert Downey Jr. is open to returning to the Wonder Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Esquire, the on-screen character said he’d cheerfully play Tony Stark, aka Press Man, in future motion pictures if Wonder Divine beings needed him to. “It’s also fundamentally a portion of my DNA. That part chose me. And see, I continuously say, ‘Never, ever wagered against Kevin Feige. It’s a losing wage. He’s the house. He will continuously win,'” said Robert.
Robert reviewed the final time he got together with the cast of the MCU was when they shot for Russo Brothers’ 2018 superhero gathering Justice Fighters: Boundlessness War in Atlanta. Despite active shooting plans, they reinforced over a celebratory supper. “It was one of the final times you seemed to get everyone from the establishments together, and I keep in mind that it was an extraordinary night,” Robert said.
He included the conditions he had with his co-stars—Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s spouse), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Stamp Ruffalo (The Extraordinary Mass), Scarlett Johansson (Dark Dowager), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), among others—have been exceptionally tight-knit since, to begin with, in Hollywood history, they worked with each other over over a decade to construct a cinematic universe together.

Robert was presented as Press Man in Jon Favreau’s 2008 film of the same name. He reprised his famous part in The Extraordinary Mass (2008, mid-credits cameo), Press Man 2 (2010), The Vindicators (2012), Press Man 3 (2013), Justice Fighters: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Gracious War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Vindicators: Limitlessness War, and Vindicators: Endgame (2019). His character kicked the bucket after Endgame. After a couple of duds post-his MCU exit, Robert bounced back with his Oscar-winning supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s period film Oppenheimer’s final year. He also plays different adversary parts in the up-and-coming authentic dark comedy, The Sympathizer. Meanwhile, up-and-coming Wonder motion pictures incorporate Deadpool and Wolverine and The Phenomenal Four, among others.
