“He Was Extremely Motivated for This IPL”: Yuzvendra Chahal argues for a World Cup berth
Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson praised Yuzvendra Chahal after their six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in their 2024 Indian Chief Association (IPL) clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday. “I think he was truly let go for this IPL, and he’s been doing well for the past 2-3 years for us,” Samson said at the post-match presentation.
Chahal has been a consistent source of wickets for RR and won the Purple Cap when playing for Illustrious Challengers Bangalore. He is India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is, but shockingly, he has never played a diversion in the T20 World Cup. With the T20 World Glass 2024 being planned to begin on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA, Chahal’s title is likely to come up for determination. He is also, as of now, in the driving wicket-takers charts for IPL 2024, with six scalps so far. On Monday, after Trent Boult’s red-hot opening spell, Chahal got to be MI’s tormentor, wiping out the middle order and claiming 3/11 in four brilliant overs.
Tilak Varma and MI captain Hardik Pandya counter-attacked in their 56-run stand as the left-right team raised their fifty in 32 balls after the misfortune of fast wickets at the top. Chahal broke the stand as he got Pandya to go for a huge one as it were to be caught in the profound by substitute Rovman Powell.

Varma also looked like he would offer assistance to MI to an enormous score with trademark bursting shots, but Chahal had him coming out to a wide googly, and the hitter swelled an edge to Ashwin at brief third-man. Chahal, who bowled a brilliant line and length against a clueless MI middle-order, claimed Gerald Coetzee as his third casualty as he has proceeded to vacillate and, as it was overseen, an insignificant score. MI were limited to 125/9 in 20 overs, their second-lowest add-up against RR. “I was attempting to shift my pace; Fair attempted to blend my length and pace. A few balls were turning, so I attempted to bowl that ball against Hardik. I continuously back my abilities; this is the arrangement where you go for runs; now and then you get wickets.” Chahal said at the mid-inning break.
