WPL Final 2024: Shreyanka Patil’s Brilliance Leads RCB to Championship Victory Over DC

The Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals suffered yet another tragedy when their club lost the Women’s Premier League championship final two times in a row. The Mumbai Indians won the title the year before, while this year the Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Smriti Mandhana, defeated the Delhi Capitals by eight wickets to win the title.

In today’s match, the bowlers dominated as Shreyanka Patil of the RCB produced an amazing spell that completely destroyed the potent DC hitters. In the WPL finals 2024, Sophie Molineux’s three-wicket over went well with Patil, as the Delhi Capitals were held to a meager 113 runs.

“It was a lot of fun to bowl in the middle. Although they had a strong start, we did not let our guard down. As we stated, it all came down to a wicket. Smriti Mandhana-led RCB pursued a modest target of 114, but they never showed signs of complacency and proceeded deliberately and methodically. RCB had a solid platform thanks to the opening combination between captain Smriti Mandhana (31) and Sophie Devine (32) and, even though they lost two wickets in quick succession, the chase appeared easy for them.
