In the wake of speculations that star player Shreyas Iyer of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) may not be able to play in the few opening games of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the relevant authorities have categorically refuted that Iyer’s participation in the competition is in danger.

Iyer is well and would be in Kolkata in two days for the pre-IPL training, according to Mumbai team manager Bhushan Patil, who spoke with Cricbuzz.

Furthermore, Iyer’s team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, are mentioned on their official website. Additionally, it mentions how fit the top player is. The athlete himself has not yet attested to his level of fitness, though.

The sources said on Thursday that captain Shreyas Iyer’s recurrent back issue flared up again during the ongoing Ranji Trophy final, potentially dealing a serious blow to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). With only seven days until the IPL 2024, these claims seriously raise questions about whether the star player of KKR will play in the opening games.
