IPL Franchises Upset as Foreign Players Withdraw from Tournament, Urges BCCI for Intervention

Some of the greatest cricket players in the world compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the biggest cricket extravaganzas. Only the selected survive the tough auctions amid fierce competition, and the fortunate ones are richly rewarded for their efforts. However, the franchise is now concerned as a result of some overseas players’ recent decision to withdraw from the IPL 2024, forcing them to find replacements only a few days before the competition.

The Delhi Capitals, who bid ₹4 crore to get the batter, are not happy about Harry Brook’s decision to withdraw from the IPL 2024 for personal reasons. The franchise referred to it as unprofessional behavior, according to Cricbuzz, and requested that the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) handle the matter.

“Players should keep their word once they sign up for the auction. A Delhi Capitals official reportedly stated, “The BCCI should address this as reneging on it is unprofessional.”

Brook Withdraws from IPL Due to Personal Loss

On Wednesday, Brook announced that he has withdrawn from the forthcoming Indian Premier League in order to spend more time with his bereaved family. In February, Brook’s grandmother passed away. In a statement, Brook said, “I can confirm that I have made the very difficult decision not to play in the upcoming IPL.”

“I was ecstatic to be selected by Delhi Capitals and couldn’t wait to get together with everyone.” Even though I don’t think I should have to explain my personal reasoning for my choice, I am aware that many others will want to know. Thus, I would want to share this.
