The injury that will prevent Delhi Capitals’ gifted pacer Lungi Ngidi from playing in the IPL 2024 season is a serious blow. The absence of Ngidi, a bowler for the Capitals who is renowned for his quickness and league experience, creates a hole in the lineup.

The Delhi Capitals promptly announced Jake Fraser-McGurk as the replacement for Ngidi, who was out due to injury. The Australian player, who has demonstrated his abilities on a global scale, will sign a reserve contract with the Capitals for INR 50 lakh.

Jake Fraser-McGurk replaces Lungi Ngidi

The all-around player Jake Fraser-McGurk has been picked by the Delhi Capitals (DC) to replace Lungisani Ngidi in the upcoming TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Ngidi was ruled out of the IPL due to injury. He has played in 14 IPL matches and has 25 wickets to his record. Two ODIs have been played by Jake Fraser-McGurk for Australia. A media advisory for the IPL stated, “He joins DC for his reserve price of INR 50 Lac.”

The return of regular skipper Rishabh Pant, who was cleared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play in the upcoming season of the lucrative league, gave the Delhi Capitals a big boost not too long ago.
