Canva Collaborates with CBSE to Train Educators in Visual Communication and AI Tools
Canva, a visual communication platform, announced on Thursday that it is partnering with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to provide teachers at CBSE-affiliated schools in India with training in tools for generative artificial intelligence (genAI) and visual communication. The program is projected to benefit over 840,000 educators and over 25 million children across all CBSE schools in the nation. Its goal is to improve principals’ and teachers’ digital innovation skills. “Today’s market requires an advanced pedagogy that helps students become more employable by fostering creativity and design literacy early in their education. Canva’s Head of Education, Jason Wilmot, stated in a statement that the company will support educators in enabling their pupils to use visual communication in the classroom.
As part of the first phase of the training series, around 30,000 instructors will take part in orientation and seminars where they will learn about innovative teaching methods. To further improve their abilities in digital storytelling, the instructors will also be invited to join the “Canva for Teachers” club, according to the company. According to Biswajit Saha, Director (Skilling), CBSE, “We are genuinely thrilled about the partnership with Canva to provide teachers with newer tools to enhance the learning experience in the classroom.”

“Giving our educators this kind of access will motivate our students to pursue a new era of creativity and design while also saving them time on design tasks,” he continued. To show educators the full potential of Canva, a thorough series of workshops will be conducted as part of the partnership. These workshops will cover everything from improving lesson plans and enabling classroom design thinking to improving instructional materials and encouraging meaningful interaction in the classroom.
