Ishan Kishan & Shreyas Iyer to lose their central contract? BCCI considers serious penalties

It may well be for Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. As per reports, a cruel discipline is set to be exacted upon the pair. For clearly losing out on household cricket, i.e., the Ranji Trophy, the team will lose their BCCI Central Contract.

The BCCI Determination Committee, driven by Ajit Agarkar, is set to announce the list of players for 2023–24. A couple of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have missed Ranji Trophy matches for completely distinctive reasons. Kishan hasn’t been a part of the squad since clearing out it halfway through the India-South Africa series. Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, was dropped from the India squad after playing the first two Test matches.

There have been clashing reports on Iyer. While the player complained of a back fit, the BCCI hasn’t uncovered anything on their therapeutic bulletin. Already, Rahul Dravid, Ajit Agarkar, and Shah asked the players to take an interest in Ranji Trophy diversions.

Be it Ishan Kishan or Iyer, both remained lost, organizing IPL over residential cricket. But presently, after rehashing exhortations, the BCCI is set to hand out cruel disciplines. Both hitters are slated to lose their central contracts for the up-and-coming year. “The selectors, driven by Ajit Agarkar, have nearly finished the list of centrally contracted players for the 2023–24 season as well, which the BCCI will declare before long. Kishan and Iyer are likely to be prohibited from that list, as both haven’t been playing residential cricket despite the BCCI’s diktat to do so,” a source told the Times of India.
