MS Dhoni’s CSK Faces Setback: Star All-Rounder Shivam Dube in Doubt for IPL 2024 Opener After Major Injury Scare
The Chennai Super Kings, the reigning champions, are in danger of getting hurt. The bilateral side strain injury that Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube sustained could sideline him for almost eight weeks. He is now solely absent from the Ranji Trophy knockouts. If the injury is severe, though, Shivam Dube might miss the entire March 22–23 IPL 2024 event or just the first half of it.
“We are monitoring the circumstances. It’s unclear at this time how severe the injury is or how long he will be absent. Within a few days, we will know. He will report to the NCA, that much is known,” a CSK officer said.
Reported that Dube would not play in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy semifinals. In the previous league game, he was batting against Assam when he got injured, and he went on to score an undefeated 121.
Due to a bilateral side strain, Dube will probably miss the remainder of the Ranji Trophy campaign. He didn’t field in Assam’s second innings at BKC after sustaining an injury while batting in the previous game against Assam. He has a grade one rip, according to a witness.
Recuperation from a Grade I side strain injury takes at least 4-6 weeks. And that casts him into doubt—at least going into the 2024 IPL season. Depending on the recuperation and follow-up scans, it might take longer.

Shivam Dube has been playing especially well in the Ranji Trophy 2024, hoarding 407 runs at a normal of 67.83 in only five games. Also, he has 12 wickets. Dube may be a significant miss on the off chance that he adds runs for India and the IPL 2023 to his aggregate.
Shivam Dube set up a good foundation for himself as a CSK pillar in the IPL 2023, with 418 runs at a strike pace of 158.33 and a normal of 38.00.
