PM Modi to Launch Gurugram Metro Project and AIIMS Rewari Today: Here’s All You Need to Know
On Friday, in Rewari, Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone for the ₹5,450 crore Gurugram Metro Rail project, which will enhance urban transit. According to a government statement, Modi will launch and lay the groundwork for several projects totaling more than ₹9,750 crore that are related to the rail, tourist, urban transportation, and health sectors.
In Rewari, Haryana, the cornerstone for a brand-new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be placed. This ₹1,650 crore, 203-acre facility would provide comprehensive healthcare with a 100-seat medical college, a 60-seat nursing college, a 30-bed AYUSH Block, and a 720-bed hospital complex.
“The Gurugram Metro project has been a long-pending demand of city residents, and it will bring the old city on the Metro route,” said Nishant Yadav, the deputy commissioner of Gurugram.

Gurugram Metro Rail Project: Route, Budget
- The project will be 28.5 kilometers long overall. Through it, Udyog Vihar Phase-5 and Millennium City Centre would be connected.
- Near Cyber City, on Moulsari Avenue, the network will merge with the existing Rapid Metro Rail Gurugram Metro network.
- The project’s main goal is to establish a connection between the ancient and new Gurugrams.
- It seeks to establish connections between HUDA City Center, Cyber Park, Sector 45, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 72A, and Hero Honda Chowk. – Udyog Vihar Phase 6; – Sectors 10 and 37; – Basai Village; – Sectors 9 and 7; – Sectors 4 and 5; – Ashok Vihar; – Sector 3; – Bajghera Road; – Palam Vihar Extension; – Palam Vihar; – Sector 23A and Sector 22; – Udyog Vihar Phase 4 in conjunction with Udyog Vihar Phase 5 in Cyber City.
- A 1.85-kilometer spur at the Dwarka Expressway would be part of the project.
- The Gurugram Metro Rail project is expected to involve the development of 27 elevated structures in total.
- Four years will probably be needed to finish the project.
- The project will be managed by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC). The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was in charge of running Gurugram’s current metro system.
